Pacific House Museum (Custom Hous e Plaza) Both days\, 10am—4pm\,  Built in 1847 by former American Counsel to Mexico\, Thomas O. Larkin. Museum features Monterey hi story from the first Rumsien people to California Statehood.

Colton Hall & Old Monterey Jail (570 Pacific St.) Both days\, 10am—4pm. Tour historic Colton Hall (1849)\, the site of California’s constitutional convention\, California’s first public school\, and one of Monterey’s mos t historically significant buildings. Learn the stories and issues that sh aped our state’s first constitution. Built in 1854 of thick granite\, the jail\, located at the rear of Colton Hall\, was used for more than 100 yea rs.

House of Four Winds (540 Calle Principal) Both days\, 10am—4pm. Built in the early 1830s the adobe dis plays California’s first weather vane\, hence its name. The building has t he desk that was used for the signing of California’s first constitution. Owned and operated by the Monterey Civic Club.

Royal Presi dio Chapel (500 Church St.) Both days Sa turday\, 2:30—4pm\, Sunday: 1-4 p.m.  The Royal Presidio Chapel – San Carlos Cathedral of Monterey – is the “Plymouth Rock” of the Old Span ish Colonial Capital of Alta California. Oldest continuously functioning p lace of worship in the state since 1770.

Cooper-Molera Adobe (Munras Ave. at Polk St.) Both days\, 11am—4pm.  Wander the orchard and garden of this newly renovated property. Step into the past in the Cooper Adobe to see n ew displays\, stories and activities. In Diaz Adobe view “Night Wo rks” by local painter Andrew Jackson. Enjoy scrumptious treats an d coffee at Alta Bakery.

Mayo Hayes O’Donnell Library (155 Van Buren St.) Both days\, 11am—4pm.  Built in 1876 as Saint James Episcopal Church\, then purchased and moved to its cur rent site in 1969 by Monterey History & Art Association. Casa Serr ano (412 Pacific St.) Both days\, 10am—4pm.  Bui lt in 1843 by Florencio Serrano and family. The adobe houses one of the la rgest collections of work by California artist Jo Mora\; other well-known Monterey artists also showcased.  The adobe was purchased and restored in1 958 by the Monterey History and Art Association.

Treasure Hunt for History Stevenson House (530 Houston Street) Sat urday only\, 11am-3 pm. — Family fun! It’s a hunt for history bas ed on Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. Pirate costumes a re encouraged! Pick up your Treasure Map at the building at 11:00 am\, and get a pirate tattoo painted on your face or arm before h eading out to find the historic places on your map. Return by 2:00 pm for a prize from the Treasure Chest!

Stevenson House Museum (530 Houston St.) Saturday onl y\, 1-4 pm. Open for self-guided tours. Learn about famous author Robert Louis Stevenson’s stay in Monterey in 1879. View the exhibit of St evenson’s personal artifacts.

1849 Constitutional Con vention Reenactment Colton Hall\, (570 Pacific S treet) Sunday only\, 2:00 – 3:30pm. Loca l actors portray delegates in debate during the bilingual convention which resulted in California’s landmark constitution\, a truly pioneering docum ent.
